Download Snapchat videos the easy way
Only public profiles have a Story on the open web — creators, brands and public figures who chose to publish one. Paste snapchat.com/@username and the snaps in that account's current Story are listed, photos and videos together, each with its own button.
The 24-hour clock is the thing to plan around. A Story is deleted at Snapchat's end when it expires, not hidden, so there's no archive to reach afterwards and no downloader that can produce one. If a Story matters, saving it the same day is the only option.
What quality you get from Snapchat
Each snap as Snapchat's web player serves it: full-resolution JPG for photos, vertical MP4 with sound for videos, HD where the upload was HD. Captions and stickers are rendered into the snap by the poster before upload, so they're part of the image rather than a removable layer.
What this page can and can't reach
Snapchat has exactly one kind of publicly readable content: public profiles (creators, brands and public figures) and Spotlight. Their current Story and their Spotlight snaps have real web pages, and that is what hhhdownload reads.
Everything else — a friend's Story, a snap sent to you in chat, a private account, a group Story — has no public page, and we make no attempt to reach it. If a site promises you private Snapchat content, it is either lying or asking for your login. Don't give anyone your Snapchat password.
24 hours, and then it's gone
A Story stays up for a day. That's the point of Snapchat, and it's also why this page fails more often than our other downloaders: by the time a link is shared, discussed and pasted, the Story behind it has often already expired.
There's no trick around it — expired means deleted at Snapchat's end. If you want to keep something, save it while it's up. When a Story has already ended, you'll get a clear message saying so instead of a vague error.
Photos and videos in one go
A Story is a run of snaps, some photos and some videos. hhhdownload lists every snap in the public Story with its own button, numbered in the order they were posted, so the third snap saves as -3 and stays easy to match up later.
Pointing at one thing works too: a link to a single snap returns just that snap, and a link to a saved highlight returns that highlight. A profile link gives you the current Story plus a list of that account's saved highlights and Spotlight posts — those are shown as covers you can open, not as a bulk download, so you pick the one you actually want before anything is fetched.
Want only one kind? The photo downloader and video downloader pages do the same job with the media type in focus, and Spotlight snaps have their own page.
Saving your own snaps and Memories
If it's your own content you're after, you don't need any downloader: Snapchat's Memories tab holds everything you saved, and Settings › My Data lets you request a full export of your account — snaps, chats history, the lot. That's the proper route for your own Memories, and it gets you originals rather than a re-download — the Memories export guide walks through both, step by step.
This page exists for the other case: a public creator's Story you want to keep a copy of before it expires.
If a download doesn't work
The most common Snapchat failure isn't an error at all: the Story expired. Stories live for 24 hours; once ended they're deleted, and nothing brings them back.
If a public video still fails, Snapchat may have changed how its pages work — tell us through the contact page and we'll get it working again. That's on us, not you.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download someone's private Story?
No. Only Stories on public Snapchat accounts — creators, brands, public figures — have a web page at all, and those are the only ones this tool can read. A friend's Story is private to their friends list, and no downloader can reach it.
Will they know I saved it?
This page never signs in as you or anyone else, so nothing happens on their account. We're not going to dress that up as a feature though: if you're saving someone's snaps, do it for reasons you'd be comfortable telling them.
Why does it say the Story is gone?
Snapchat Stories are public for 24 hours and then they're deleted. That is by far the most common reason a link fails here — if the Story ended before you pasted it, there's nothing left on Snapchat's servers to fetch.
How do I get the profile link?
In the app, open the public profile, tap the three dots and choose Share — you'll get a snapchat.com/@username link. On the web you can type snapchat.com/@username directly.
The profile link says there's no Story, but I can see posts on their page.
Then what you're seeing is saved highlights and Spotlight posts, not a live Story — those stay up permanently, while a Story only lasts 24 hours. Paste the profile link anyway: we list those collections underneath, and opening one shows everything inside it with a download button per snap.
Does a link to one single snap work?
Yes. Sharing an individual snap gives a link like snapchat.com/@username/Pf1dACmb… — paste that and you get just that snap. A saved highlight link (snapchat.com/@username/highlight/…) works the same way and returns that one highlight.
Is the Snapchat downloader free?
Yes. Every download on hhhdownload is free, and there's no limit on how many videos you can save.
Do I need an account or the Snapchat app?
No. This page runs on its own in your browser — you never sign in to Snapchat here, and there's no app or extension to install.
Where does the file save to?
On a computer it goes to your Downloads folder. On a phone, check your Downloads or Files app (on iPhone, look in Files › Downloads).
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The same page works in Safari, Chrome and every modern mobile browser.
Can you download private videos from Snapchat?
No. Only public profiles and Spotlight have web pages. A private Story never touches the open web, so no downloader — this one included — can reach it.
