Download SoundCloud images the easy way
Cover art on SoundCloud exists at several sizes, and the one the page displays is a small rendition — commonly 500px square. The original upload sits behind it at t500x500 or larger depending on what the artist submitted.
That gap is why saving artwork from the page gives something too small to use. This page goes for the largest stored version instead, which is what you want for filling in album art in a music library or reusing a cover as a thumbnail.

Can you download private images from SoundCloud?

Do I need a Chrome extension for this?

What size is the image?
The original SoundCloud stores — usually a square JPG well beyond the 500×500 you see in the player. Small covers stay small: if the artist uploaded a low-resolution image, that's the ceiling.
Can I get the artist's profile picture too?
The artwork shown is the track or album cover. When a track has no cover of its own, SoundCloud falls back to the artist's avatar, and that's what you'll see and save.
Can I use the artwork in my own video or post?
The cover is the artist's or designer's work, so treat it like any other copyrighted image: fine for personal use, credit and permission for anything you publish.
