Download SoundCloud audio tracks the easy way
This page converts the stream to WAV, and it's worth being precise about what that does and doesn't give you. WAV is an uncompressed container, so the file has no lossy encoding of its own — but the audio going into it came from a 128 kbps MP3, and nothing restores what that encode discarded.
So the honest reason to use it is compatibility, not fidelity: DJ software, hardware samplers and some editing suites want uncompressed input, and handing them a WAV avoids a decode step mid-set. If you want a genuinely better source, check whether the artist enabled SoundCloud's own Download button.
What this page actually does
It takes the audio SoundCloud streams for a public track and writes it into a WAV container instead of an MP3 one. The sound is identical; the file is uncompressed, which is what WAV means.
We're spelling this out because most WAV downloaders don't: the conversion cannot add quality back. If you came here hoping for a lossless master, the honest answer is that the master isn't available to anyone but the artist and the people they share it with.
When WAV is the right call
Loading a track into DJ software that dislikes variable-bitrate MP3s, chopping samples in a DAW, dropping audio into a video editor that re-encodes anyway, or burning a plain audio CD. In all of those, starting from an uncompressed file avoids a second lossy pass.
For ordinary listening — phone, car, headphones — take the MP3 instead. It sounds the same and is a tenth of the size.

Then why would I want a WAV?
Because some tools insist on it: older DJ software, hardware samplers, certain video editors and CD-burning apps all prefer uncompressed audio. Converting once here is simpler than installing a converter.
How big is the file?
Roughly ten times the MP3 — about 10 MB per minute of audio. A four-minute track lands around 40 MB, so keep an eye on your storage and mobile data.
Can I get the artist's original WAV master?
Not through any downloader. When an artist enables SoundCloud's own Download file button, that gives their uploaded master and needs a free SoundCloud account — that's the only route to the original, and it's the one the artist chose to offer.
Why is the WAV slower to arrive?
It's converted on our server as it streams to you, so the first bytes take a couple of seconds longer than an MP3. The download itself then runs at full speed.
